Making it to the post season in the NFL is tough. Brutal. So much so that on average, 6 of the 12 teams that participated in the previous year's festivities, will be absent the following year. So, who will it be this season? Before we tackle that question, lets quickly revisit last years participation list: - Ravens
- 49ers
- Patriots
- Falcons
- Packers
- Seahawks
- Broncos
- Vikings
- Bengals
- Texans
- Colts
- Redskins
If history holds true, 6 of these teas will miss the pst season this year. Here's a quick list of 3 teams that I believe will be at home this winter: - Colts
- Redskins
- Vikings
This leaves 3 open spots. Who's filling this void? What say ye?

Going to add to the list a bit. - Falcons
I'm going to take the stance that the Saints will be consistent enough to knock the Falcons off their perch.

I like your four and if we have to pick two more I'd say Patriots and Houston, but with both at 2-0 in piss poor divisions I'd have to guess they will make it. Maybe a little less turnover in the playoff ranks this year than usual. Should the 9ers be a consideration? Is it likely they miss the playoffs? Certainly not. Would I be shocked? Not at all, and I'm not speculating a rash of injuries in my rationale either.

The issue with picking the Patriots,is that it means Miami or Buffallo wins the AFC East. I'm not sure I'm ready to buy that scenario.
9ers are an interesting one. So are the Ravens, and the Pack.
How real is a scenario that has Denver out of the post season?
The good news is that there are so many great stories developing this season.
